Only True God Father and Jesus
To properly understand a text you must take it in its context.
When Jesus Christ was referring to “the only true God” He was contrasting God with the world’s false gods\idols, and not with Jesus Himself.
The Father IS the only true God COMPARED to other false gods. But this statement does not deny the deity of Christ.
Others will say: “I was a heathen in heathen lands. You left your friends and comfortable home, and came to teach me how to find Jesus, and believe in Him as the only true God.” GW518
